The Story of MuhammadMuhammad, the founder of Islam, was born in the year 570 in Mecca. He was the first and only son of Abd Allah bin Al-Muttalib and Amina bint Wahb. His dad dies before his birth and his mother died as he was a young boy, so he was raised by his aunt. Muhammad married a distant widowed cousin and they created a family, as he was older. Then, according to Muslim belief, while out on a retreat. the angel, Gabriel appeared to Muhammad and delivered a message from God. Muhammad then dedicated the rest of his life to spreading the message of monotheism in a polytheistic world. His work is written down in the Qur'an.
